At the 4pm Mass, the music is traditional and supports the Liturgy very well. The Cantor leads the assembly in song and has the responsibility of leading the people in a recurring refrain to be sung during the Mass and inviting the folks to join voices in hymns throughout the Mass. The music is supported by an organist and is most reverent and profound.
At the 8am Mass (scheduled between Labor Day Weekend and Memorial Day weekend), the music is also traditional and is led by a cantor and an organist. The Roman Catholic Church has continued to intertwine music and prayer into nearly every part of the Liturgy.
At the 10:30am Mass, there is rotation between Contemporary and Traditional Music every other weekend. The Contemporary Ensemble is unique and has a variety of instrumentalists and singers and can best be thought of as an ensemble performance. The traditional Team at this Mass also plays at the Christmas and Easter traditional Liturgies and other special Liturgies during the year.
